Green Tea Diet – Does It Actually Work?

Are you struggling to try and lose weight? Did you know that the green tea diet, a growing health trend, may be the help you need? It is a supplement that utilizes the herbs found in natural green tea to regulate your eating habits and aid you in weight loss. Throughout the cycle, however, it is required that you drink only green tea.

Since this herb has many health benefits, it would be a good choice for weight forecasting. Green tea is actually a natural diuretic, most of the loss in weight is from a depletion of water from the system. The only strict regimen is that low carbohydrate foods need to be apart of the plan. Because you are avoiding high carb foods, the supplement really kicks in with a low caloric intake. The fluctuation in pounds loss depends on the individual and their own metabolic rate. In theory, the lowered caloric intake paired with lower carbohydrates would result in greater success.

In all actuality this whole regimen may not be all that efficient without the aid of good exercise and plenty of rest. Counting calories and avoiding high carbohydrate foods alone might help in shedding some pounds. Creators of the diet makes the claim that green tea will leave the dieter feeling rejuvenated and this is due in part to the caffeine content.

As with any type of diet it is good practice to seek the advice of a medical professional before beginning a new dietary program. Sometimes, preexisting conditions can be aggravated by certain diets, because of additional nutrients being taken in or left out, so, before starting, consult your doctor. In contrast this tea has not been known to have any serious side effects and any minor side effects will be alleviated by discontinuing its usage. Because it is just an herb, it can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. It gives you a cardiovascular boost and actually reduces the risk of you getting cancer.

Although these are advertised as diets, they are not known to be a good long term solution to keeping weight off and it is not quick, because green tea has not been proven to actually lower calories. The only real way to lose weight and get in shape is to make lifestyle adjustments and pay attention to the amount of food and what kind of food you eat. You will want to exercise, get at least 8 hours of sleep a night, and eat healthy foods that replenish the nutrients your body needs.

With so many diet fads going around, choosing one that may work for you is no easy task. The green tea regime is one of many, but it may be the right diet for you.

Atkins Grape Fruits Diet Tips For You

by Trixie Lazarurs

There is a diet that really has nothing to do with the Atkins Diet, called the Atkins Grapefruit diet, that combines elements of it's famous namesake and an all grapefruit diet. A closer look into this diet shows that it may not be all it claims to be.

It's a challenge to find clear cut information, such as a web site, for the Atkins grapefruit diet. Hard to find information is a pretty good tip off that a con job is being perpetrated. This is what the Atkins grapefruit diet seems to do in an attempt to get people to associate it with two supposedly effective diets.

Is the Atkins grapefruit diet something that was found locked away in a safe by the late Dr. Atkins? The answer is no, not only is there no mention of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet on the Atkins web site, but there is no fruit of any kind mentioned in the list of allowed foods in the Atkins diet Induction phase.

Here is what can be eaten in the induction phase

Seafood Chicken, turkey and other fowl Any shellfish Beef, pork and other meats Any style egg All sorts of cheese Any vegetable you can name Any herbs and spices to make food more exciting Butter, lard, any oils Low carbohydrate beverages including diet soft drinks

Notice one thing - fruit is not on that list. Grapefruit and other fruits such as fruit juices are specified in other phases of the Atkins diet. But there is far more grapefruit in the Atkins Grapefruit diet than Dr. Atkins would ever dream of allowing.

The Atkins Grapefruit Diet recommends a cup of grapefruit juice or a cup of grapefruit sections, with 8 and 18 carbs respectively. But the Atkins diet calls for no more than 7 grams of carbs in a day. the two diets just don't mesh.

When they hear about the Atkins grapefruit diet people should naturally visit the Atkins web site to read more about it. It isn't found there, and that turns off a lot of folks.

In general remember this. Any diet that relies too heavily on one food or food group is going to be unhealthy. The Atkins diet frowns on eating the way the Atkins Grapefruit Diet recommends.

Cabbage Soup Diet Recipes

by Aljanae Dacey

Anyone who wants an explanation of the cabbage soup diet can have one - BALONEY. Anything else is just a lot of noise. But for those who insist here is more.

Nobody knows who created the cabbage soup diet. It was one of the diets faxed from machine to machine in the early 1980's. The diet went under many names, often using a part of the name of a well respected institution such as the Russian peasant diet, or the St. Jude's diet. Any suggested relationship to these institutions is false.

The cabbage soup diet calls for drinking nothing but water or unsweetened fruit juice on days when juice is allowed. A general outline of the diet is something like this.

Day one -- cabbage soup and any fruit except bananas.

Day two -- cabbage soup, vegetables - which could be half of a baked potato without butter.

Day three -- add vegetables and fruit to the daily cabbage soup, but no bananas or potato.

Day four -- cabbage soup, eight bananas, skimmed milk.

Day five -- cabbage soup, six tomatoes and up to 20 ounces of beef.

Day six -- cabbage soup plus as much beef and vegetables as can be eaten, but no potatoes.

Day seven -- unsweetened fruit juice, vegetables except potatoes, brown rice, and of course our friend cabbage soup.

The cabbage soup diet claims that people can lose 10 pounds in only one week. What the diet doesn't specify is that most of that weight loss would be water. It's impossible to lose 10 pounds of fat in a week. What the cabbage soup diet could accomplish in a week is to make someone sick from eating poorly.

It's also pretty hard to stick to the cabbage soup diet. In general this isn't because it's difficult to understand but rather because cabbage soup isn't a lot of fun. Many people who have started the cabbage soup diet quit after only one or two days. There were even attempts to spice up cabbage soup recipes but they failed.

Realistically people don't need a fad diet like the cabbage soup diet to lose weight. Exercise more and cut out calories in order to accomplish a goal.
