Decaf Green Tea Bags

Are you ready to add green tea to your diet? If so, decaf green tea bags can be the perfect way to do it. Traditionally, green tea is brewed using loose tea. You can certainly hold to tradition and use loose leaves, but many people find it easier to use tea bags. Green tea naturally contains a small amount of caffeine, only 15 milligrams on average. While this is a fraction of what you'll find in black tea, soft drinks, and coffee, you may want to avoid caffeine altogether.

When shopping for green tea, choose brands that are naturally decaffeinated. This means the caffeine has been removed in a healthy way. There are plenty of brands on store shelves that offer decaffeinated green tea, including popular brands like Lipton, Celestial Seasonings, Salada and many more. Usually the bags come in one serving size each although you may be able to find family sized bags for making large amounts of tea. Green tea can be enjoyed hot or iced, and is easy to make especially if you are using a tea bag.

There are a few easy methods of brewing green tea. Perhaps the easiest way is to fill your tea cup with water, microwave it for about one minute until the water is hot but not boiling, remove the cup from the microwave and add the tea bag. You can also heat your water using a tea kettle or even a pan on the stove. The tea bag should be allowed to steep for only one to three minutes. Allowing it to sit any longer will give your tea an unpleasant taste. The reason green tea needs a lower temperature of water and a shorter brewing time is because it is steamed right after harvest which helps it maintain its flavorful and healthful properties.

You can buy decaf green tea bags at supermarkets, health food stores and online. If you are looking for the healthiest kind of green tea, you may want to consider matcha tea. Matcha tea contains even more antioxidants because the tea bush is sheltered from the sun to slow growth and increase chlorophyll levels. At the least, go for organic teas. That way you know there were no harmful chemicals used in the processing of your tea. Also, look for tea that has been decaffeinated naturally for the best quality.
